A special Friday Ladies Day

p1010421-copyWe have had one of the most productive Ladies Day ever with the help of Volunteers from Credit Suisse and our special friends at Benfleet.

This special activity was organised to raise money for the Macmillan Charity.   The staff and regular helpers produced homemade cakes to sell to our ladies and involved them in decorating cupcakes for them to take home.   Wow.  The result was fantastic, the creativity and artistry in our ladies is truly wonderful.    Their cup cakes were perfect.

Credit Suisse and Benfleet were brilliant at getting the ladies to create cakes good enough for Lola’s!   The ladies loved the whole afternoon, we could have kept going through to the evening they were so engrossed.

We turned our thoughts and prayers to one of our own; “Kilo”. Sadly “Kilo” lost her fight to breast cancer just two months ago.  We held her in our thoughts and one of the ladies read out a beautiful poem with her in mind.

To top the whole afternoon, the ladies managed, through their generous buying, to raise over £70, a fantastic amount given the fact that our ladies are people that have to look after every penny to ensure they budget for their weekly bills.

A massive thank you to Credit Suisse, the ladies at Benfleet Methodist Church, with a special thank you to Doreen, we love your Bara Biriath; also to Jean for the fabulous cakes donated for us to sell, they look scrumptious.   But the most love must go to our ladies who dug so deep in order to raise such a fine amount.
