A fabulous productive day here at the Whitechapel Mission today.
BNY Mellon volunteers did a sterling job, Rob and his team keeping up, serving breakfast on a very busy morning. Victoria states she will be dreaming about eggs tonight after she must have fried over 300 eggs. (She lost count after that).
Tracy and her team came later in the morning for Ladies day, which was a great success! BNY wanted to do something a little special as Easter is looming. They decided on producing freshly poached dressed salmon with new potatoes and crisp salad. Wow! Did that go down well. Everyone came back for seconds, we then served a homemade (thanks to Jamie Oliver’s recipe), bread and butter pudding made with hot cross buns. Delicious.
The activity that was chosen was just brilliant. Easter bonnet making and then a bonnet parade with chocolate Easter Eggs given out as gifts. The ladies that attended were kept focused and a great time was enjoyed by all; including the staff.
A special thank you to the BNY Mellon team for their time and commitment today; you make our job so much easier and so enjoyable.
Our guests and staff look forward to the next BNY Mellon day. Bring it on!
